WebRTC Backrooms

A podcast series deep-scrolling into XR, AI, and the future of hanging out in the spatial internet

COMING SOON...

The WebRTC BackRooms is a podcast series that deep-scrolls into XR, AI, and the eerie architectures of the spatial internet. Like a “no-clip” into the endless, glitchy voids of the BackRooms, the series slips past polished tech interfaces to reveal what hums beneath.
Anchored in WebRTC protocols, each episode is designed for real-time, peer-to-peer connection inside a virtual space—using volumetric streaming to bring hosts and guests together within an environment tailored to the artist’s or researcher’s work. The result is a spatial conversation format that explores spectral data, synthetic social spaces, and the uncanny but yet alternative ways of inhabiting networked world.
Through conversations with a range of guests—including glitch artists, transmedia architects, digital storytellers, and researchers exploring the slippages behind perceived reality—the podcast features voices such as Simone Niquille (technoflesh), Rosa Menkman, Nicolas Gourault, Davide Tommaso Ferrando, Valentina Tanni, Liam Young, Joe Hunting, Space Popular, and Piotr Winiewicz & Mads Damsbo, who each help to expose the hidden architectures of XR and AI.
